REHABILITATION CENTER FOR WILD ANIMALS, UKRAINE
On the 2nd of May, we’ve been visiting the Khmelnytsky Zoo, a rehabilitation center for wild animals in Ukraine. The reasons why those animals happened to be there, may vary: some of them were taken out of the circus or other zoos just refused to keep them any longer. Some of the species were saved from forest fires. But especially heartbreaking stories are about living creatures that suffered from individuals who could no longer bear the burden of the exotic animals. We've found out that the pandemic has a particularly problematic influence on the situation: since some people are isolated at home and can become bored, they decide to get an exotic animal. No wonder that something like this happens, especially if the well-known market platform provider OLX in Ukraine offers all kinds of exotic animals at an affordable price, even Bagheera from Mowgli. It rather fosters the problem. What do you think? Can you get so bored, that you would buy a wild cat for your flat?
P.S. take care of your pets
